Vanessa Pottiger
singer-songwriter
Over the years, Vanessa has found it difficult to define herself as an artist and performer.
Beginning in musical theater, Vanessa felt compelled to explore performance in as many genres as she could. Inspired by out-of-the-box performers such as Kimbra and Lady Gaga, she sought out avenues of expression through songwriting, music videos, acting and modeling.
After releasing her first two singles, Sugar Don't Make Me Lie and Grieve, she grew tired of doing the creative process alone, and set out to make Mother Lion, the collaborative work between herself and her sister, a success.
In 2024, she was invited to star in Gigi Hozimah's feature film It's Always That Feeling, and her performance was praised by Film Threat: "Pottiger impresses throughout It’s Always That Feeling. She unleashes potent sexual energy in her scenes with Vives and even plays a couple of songs on piano and guitar."
Vanessa wrote the original song Porcelain Soul for the film, drawing on the themes of suffering in the name of love. This release marks the first single written and produced entirely by Vanessa.
